Join the Fun! - Sports of All Sorts has answered Mayor Greg Ballard’s challenge - to participate in a citywide food initiative by organizing the inaugural “Give It All You Got” Tournament. | On Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., children and adults can enter tournaments in dodge ball, corn hole, soccer, volleyball, basketball and bowling. | 100% of the proceeds will be donated to local charities that provide food, clothing and other necessities to those in need.

16Dec08 Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:30 PM - Trusted Mentors - will be holding a mentor training at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 402 E. Prospect St., 46225. Mentors are needed to build supportive, encouraging relationships with individuals who are at high risk of becoming homeless, including ex-offenders and work release program participants. Before 19Dec08 - The City-County Councilor and the Township Trustee are Teaming Up to Brighten Season for Eastside Families - City-County Councilor Benjamin Hunter and Warren Township Trustee Jeff Bennett, with support from RTV6, today announced a joint effort to bring eastside residents and businesses together this holiday season for a toy drive to benefit eastside families in need. This year marks the second for the partnership—last year’s event provided toys for more than 600 eastside children. | More than 15 neighborhoods, businesses, and agencies have agreed to support the eastside effort. | New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off with any of the participating sites listed above or at the Warren Township Trustee’s Office (501 N. Post Road) before December 19, 2008. | Generous financial and in-kind contributions have been made by the Warren Lion’s Club and International Paper. Individuals or organizations interested in making a tax-deductible contribution should call 327-8954. HORIZON HOUSE NEEDS YOUR HELP - They are running low on items they pass out to their homeless neighbors -
They Provide Resources, Empower Lives, that can lead to Ending Homelessness.  They are a welcoming place where homeless neighbors find the resources and support they need to end their homelessness. IWP CHAPEL NEEDS A LARGER TV, SCREEN, PROJECTOR AND CHOIR ROBES -
Indiana Women's Prison - could use a newer larger screen television for the PLUS unit.  The PLUS Program is held in the chapel and they use DVD's for training classes and their existing TV is much too small.  The chapel is also looking for screen dividers and a projector for PowerPoint.  They also need new choir robes. | If you can help IWP with any of these items please contact Catherine Bowie at 317- 317-639-2671 #256, or email her at .

FEED THE HOMELESS -
Meet Me Under The Bridge

On Sunday afternoons a group of volunteers team up to feed the homeless at Willard Park in the downtown area. They start feeding at 3:00 pm.  All the food is hot and homemade by their group.  After they are done there they move to Washington and Rural to the parking lot at the library.  They are currently feeding between 150 & 200 people every Sunday.  If you are interested in helping out, and you want more information please don't hesitate to contact Kim at 317-222-8741, or email her at: .
